We have a unique opportunity to prove ourselves to those who think that our concern about crime is a passing fancy and will soon disappear like the wind. For us to be successful there has to be a “general cry from the citizens, an uprising from the populace, every Tom Dick and Harry needs to stand up and say: “I want my voice to count – I demand a better level of policing. We are not satisfied with the status quo!
The Mayor, Chairman of County Commissioners, City Council and the County Commissioners have all come forward to say we are here to do what is necessary to fight crime. Let’s work on a short term plan to get rid of the 400 or so real bad guys and lets work on a long term plan to address some of the causes of crime. All of us are united in our desire to fight crime. There are many avenues we can take to make Savannah a safer place. Some are more practical than others, but though we may differ in methods our goal is always the same: reduce crime 30% to 40%. Working together we can make Savannah a safer place for Everyone, Everywhere, Everyday.
We need to present a full complement of 400 plus interested crime fighters to our guest speaker Ruben Greenburg, Congressman Kingston and our local government contingent. This Town Hall meeting is an opportunity to learn more about crime and, in particular, crime in Savannah. It is an opportunity for a teacher like Chief Greenburg to help set us on a course for success.
Please, Please, Please join us Monday night February 27th from 5 to 6 PM to help show your support for crime reduction in Savannah. Bring a friend. We will have Save Our Savannah business cards for anyone interested in joining SOS. EVERY CITIZEN NEEDS TO BE A MEMBER.
We need your support!
