SAVE OUR SAVANNAH
Working Toward a Safer Savannah for Everyone, Everywhere, Everyday
Article 29 April 11, 2006
Dear Members and Friends:
Demery Bishop, Executive Director of Savannah / Chatham County CrimeStoppers and a retired FBI officer, has been an advocate of technology including cameras, special computers and other high-tech items to improve the efficiency of our police officers’ efforts. Mr. Bishop has come up with a written plan to install cameras in various areas around Savannah with a five-phase program. There are many things that we need to do to reduce crime in Savannah, but here is a program that can be implemented quickly and evaluated to determine if Savannah can be as successful with surveillance as other cities.
Please click on the following link to view the proposal:
We are excited about moving forward with a proactive approach for reducing crime by 30 to 40% in Savannah over the next 18 months. Please take a look at this detailed plan and let us have your input. We need to help Demery get this funded and implement this program as soon as possible. We need to work together to realize a safer Savannah for Everyone, Everywhere, Everyday!
Thanks,
Martin
