Crime in our Community

It is astonishing how many emails Save Our Savannah has received from citizens personally affected by the crime situation. If you would like to share your story, and have it posted on the website, please email Martin Sullivan and indicate that you will allow your story to be posted. All names will be removed for privacy purposes.

Here is an example of one story received from the Isle of Hope community, concerning recent and multiple auto break-ins:

  • All of the following cases remain unsolved…

    Recent autos with windows smashed or unlocked auto with theft.

    • December 30, 2005: Cardinal Dr.: remington shot gun, back hatch left unlocked.
    • January 1, 2006: Peridot: window broken articles stolen
    • January 1, 2006: Cornus Dr.: 2 cars broken in, cell phone, camera and other articles taken.
    • January 6, 2006: Leary Dr.: auto entered: purse stolen, credit cards stolen, credit cards had been used.

      (There were 2 autos entered on Leary Dr.)

    • January 6, 2006: Island Dr.: 2 cars entered, jacket golf clubs and other articles removed from cars.

      • It is also reported that another area with a rash of break ins is Whitfield Park.

      Please be on the look out for any suspicious activities, if anything looks suspicious please call the police.
